Lines Greyford High Book 1 eBook Anna B Doe

This was my first book by this author and I can’t wait for the next! This story will take you back to high school and to the time when your whole life revolved around your friends, parties and first love.

Lia is a quiet girl. She just wants to finish her senior year. Avoid all the drama and be invisible to the bully’s and go away to college. She’s got her quiet life and her bff. She likes things the way they are.

If only her plan worked. There’s some new kids at the school, Max and Jeanette. Max is outgoing, flirtatious and once he shows Lia some attention, the bully she’s been avoiding comes out in full force.

Derek has been the guy she’s hated since she was eight. She never forgot that day he hurt her. Now he makes it his life’s mission to torment her on the daily.

But love and hate...that’s a fine line. Derek has not always made the best choices when it came to Lia. Now it’s up to him to decide if he’s man enough to change and cross the line between love and hate.

This story had some teen angst, great friendships and a whole lot of chemistry. The characters were great and I know each one has their own story to tell. I cannot wait for the next book in this series.

Lines Greyford High Book 1 eBook Anna B Doe Reviews

This was my first book by Anna B. Doe, and sadly I have to say I didn't like it so much.
The blurb of this YA sports romance immediately catched my attention, and maybe that's why I was expecting so much more.
It started off like some sort of love triangle, with these two guys (Derek and Max) fighting over the same girl (Amelia), but turned out it wasn't like that at all.

I had a feeling the author didn't have a clear idea on what to based this book on, she says it's about bullying, but it's not 100% like that, I mean Amelia (the female character) has been bullied when she was a kid, but now that she's seventeen she's victim of some jokes at school but I wouldn't consider it bullying.
Then this book was supposed to be a sports romance, with hockey being said sport, but it's slightly mentioned throughout all the book.

I found it interesting at the beginning, but then it just became boring, and started to become interesting again just at 80%. I know it's a young adult, but Derek and Amelia shared a total of five kisses, and that's all. I would've loved to read more passion, more sparkles, more everything.
The side characters were more interesting than the main ones, and that says a lot.
I'm sorry cause I had great expectations on this book, but I think the whole story could've been developed in a better way to make it more special.

Plus, the countless typos and grammatical errors (even though that was an Arc) got on my nerves, cause sometimes they made it hard to understand the whole sentence. For example, I've read at least 10 times the word 'world', instead of 'word'.
The author said this was the fastest book she's ever written, and I would say you can totally see that if you'll ever read it.
I'll give it three stars just cause at the end the story became better, but I'm sorry, this romance just wasn't for me.

*ARC received in exchange for an honest review*
I feel like people are reading a different book because this was terrible.

Let's start with the fact that it looked like the author didn't edit it let alone a professional. There were so many errors in the 7 chapters I made it through that it read like a rough draft. Then there's the story itself. I mean I didn't finish it, but from what i read, both of the guys introduced were creepy AF. And Derek was aggressive bordering on abusive. Not sure how a romance blooms anywhere in there since Amelia seems to be freaking terrified of him.

Just another sad attempt at romance that idolizes toxic relationships. Not something we should be putting on pedestals for our youth to think it's normal.
Both guys are introduced as controlling creeps. The poor female lead is a scared girl easily manipulated and bullied, what seems, long term. A few+ chapters in and i quit. Its twisted. Feels 50 shades of high school.
I have been craving a fun YA romance and Lines just did the trick. This book took me back to my high school years. The different feelings and emotions felt in high school came back to me with this story. This is going to be a fun series to read and I can not wait for the next books in the series. Definitely a must read.
I like the story and there's some really good YA book stuff in there so this author got potential. However I feel there is some faults in character development. To much and to fast in to little time. The characters fast reactions to eachother don't make enough sence, and I'm not talking about Lia and Derek exactly, it has more to do with everyone else. So my conclusion is that this is a good try but it will need a little more of editing and maybee a little more experience.
I picked this up on a recommendation of another author. The story kept me interested and I did really like the main female character. It's a mix of Pen Douglas Bully, Cambria Herbert's Nerd and a little of B. Reid's Fear me.

It's not a ground breaking story but I did like the messaging behind the story. It's the first of a series so it can be read on it's own
